Energy can exist in many forms.

Some examples of energy
Each form of energy has its own characteristics.

MECHANICAL ENERGY
   All objects have mechanical energy.
   There are two main types:
   Kinetic energy: Energy of motion.
Potential energy: Gravity or elastic force.

CHEMICAL ENERGY
Chemical energy is stored in different substances.
During chemical reactions this energy is converted into other forms: in food, in fuel and  inside a  battery.

ELECTRICAL ENERGY
Some examples of electrical energy we can see in natural phenomena such as lightning.
Electrical energy is used in televisions, lifts, refrigerators...

LIGHT ENERGY
Light energy is the energy that travels with light.
Plants use light energy for photosynthesis.

NUCLEAR ENRGY
Nuclear energy is stored in substances known as nuclear fuels, such us uranium and plutonium.

THERMAL ENERGY
Thermal energy passes from warmer bodies to cooler bodies.
